money is always going to be an issue when creating notable pieces of architecture, especially by starchitects. but, i think this is a great opportunity for toyo ito to reevaluate the construction and adjust to the changing economic situation. his vision is obviously there, but scaling costs while maintaining his distinct design aesthetic poses a fantastic challenge that i’d like to see tackled. he could use this to set a good example for other architects and incite a new wave: “cut back but maintain.”
life is full of adversity, it’s how you react to it that define’s your character. i would approach it as fun challenge… i say go for it, toyo! :)
